Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Learning
Location: School of the Osage, Lake Ozark, Missouri
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time, 12-month position

School of the Osage is seeking a dynamic and experienced PreK-12 District-Wide Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Learning Director to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous and innovative curriculum that supports student achievement. The ideal candidate will have experience in curriculum development, formative and summative assessment, instructional leadership, and professional learning, with a strong preference for individuals who have worked on standards development and/or assessment with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Curriculum Leadership

Develop, implement, and evaluate PreK-12 curriculum aligned with Missouri Learning Standards and district strategic goals

Lead curriculum review committees and conduct comprehensive district-wide instructional audits

Oversee the selection, adoption, and evaluation of high-quality instructional materials and resources, including vendor management

Ensure curricular coherence and vertical alignment across all grade levels and content areas

Support specialized program integration within the core curriculum, including special education, gifted education, career and technical education (CTE), and early childhood programs

Advocate for and implement equity and inclusion principles in curriculum design and implementation

Serve as the district's curriculum liaison with DESE and ensure compliance with state standards
Assessment Systems

Continue and improve the implementation of the districts’ implementation of comprehensive assessment framework that includes both formative and summative measures

Analyze student performance data to identify achievement gaps and instructional needs

Guide educators in utilizing assessment results to inform and differentiate instruction

Ensure district assessment efforts align with MSIP 6 expectations for student achievement

Collaborate with DESE on state assessment initiatives and maintain current knowledge of accountability requirements

Develop systems for monitoring curriculum effectiveness through multiple measures of student learning

Lead data-driven decision-making processes to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
Professional Learning

Design and facilitate high-impact professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators

Create sustainable systems for ongoing educator growth aligned with district curriculum and assessment goals

Build capacity among school leaders to effectively implement curriculum and assessment practices

Support the district’s ongoing implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), increasing district effectiveness in collaborative inquiry, data analysis, and continuous instructional improvement

Stay current on educational research and best practices to inform professional learning initiatives

Collaborate with principals and instructional coaches to ensure consistent instructional approaches across the district

Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning initiatives and adjust as needed
