Substitute School Nurse/Health Aide

School of the Osage, in partnership with our community, educators and families, will equip all students to reach their maximum potential for a lifetime of success.

Qualifications

Experience -  One full  year of clinical experience as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) preferred

                        Varied nursing background preferred.

Performance Expectations

1.         Manages health care within school health program which include programs of immunizations, vision, hearing and dental screenings, and prevention and control of communicable diseases.

2.         Administers and/or supervises first aid of students, faculty, and staff in accordance with established first aid procedures.

3.         Identifies the health status and health needs of students. Plans and carries out appropriate

            interventions.

4.         Manages and administrates medications as per school policy.

5.         Confers with teachers to interpret the identified health concerns of students.

6.         Shadows each school clinic prior to assigned (compensated). 

7.         Prepares and submits required reports.

8.         Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, to stoop or bend, to respond to emergencies in a timely manner, and to perform CPR on a student or adult.
